has this only happened since you changed your coils?
are you using the lockout relay?
are you using the lockout relay?

Re: Increase of revs when in gear...!
well um not sure but the neutral switch is connected to the CDI, so could it be you've got a dirty contact or high resistance joint on that?
could it be a bad diode in the cutout relay? not sure what effect a high or low voltage on the neutral switch input to the CDI would cause.

I just wrote on the carpe forum...a dude reminded me of my extra CDI lying in the garage with the TPS mod on it....quick change to see if it changes anything!youngy wrote:well um not sure but the neutral switch is connected to the CDI, so could it be you've got a dirty contact or high resistance joint on that?

Will do later!
Also have more dynatek hot leads (you get four of ´em) so i can exchange those as well....another quickie...

Been out for a real whack with the other CDI (TPS modded) and problem seems gone...couldn´t see it in an hour so....
The bike did go better all in all....better powerdelivery and a "knacker" at 6k revs where also gone (thought for myself that was valves but guess not)
...only thing, bike´s a good 10 degrees hotter in running temp now....

Re: Increase of revs when in gear...!
Glad you got it sorted - sounds like the neutral switch was affecting the timing advance ... as Martin said it is all linked to the ecu. I assume the other ECU had been TPS modded too?

Forget about the temp, it still blows some water out the header tank....Killerwhale wrote:UPDATE!

Back down to 65 after topping up!

UPDATE!
Ok, so a dude at a Swedish forum thought it could be the clutch switch as the ignition should go down to 10 degrees when pulling it....it don´t but do when putting it into neutral as that switch works.
Problem disappear when pulling TPS contact or using TPS mod as it´s full advance.
So whatcha think? And where are the switch? ....been thru all pages of the manual but only found the testpoint under left side rear fairing.
It´s the not so reachable covered in the old forum isn´t it??
Changed back to my original CDI again and....well...see the movie!!
Yank the TPS contact and all is OK...exept bike´s a dog in part throttle.
Has got to do with ignition somehow...
Went down on the slow jet cause bike where fat off the chart idling...bike started to pop like Max describes the FCR´s.
When using TPS it pops much less....but does as per the video.....the bastard!!
Any new ideas??

Re: Increase of revs when in gear...!
Ok, found something when looking at the contacts...
I´ve alway´s been forced to pull the clutch to start...also in neutral....som it HAS to be the neutral switch wich is broken.
And at the left side we have a blue contact wich i think is the sidestandswitch right!?
Well, mine is shorted so i guess previous owner got fed up with the stand!
...all this says that the previous theory don´t fit.....right!?

Re: Increase of revs when in gear...!
well neutral switch is wired to CDI, for what I don't know. Look at the connector on the end of the wire.
blue connector is indeed sidestand switch.
