Post by Rane850 » Mon Jan 26, 2009 7:27 am

Hi all.

does anyone know what kind of modifications were made during TRX production years. I know only one:
- 1st gear ratio change to lower 1998 (?)
TRX850 bubum bubum - 96 and 98
XT500 -80 bum bum bum

I'm not aware of any changes to gear box ratios.

IIRC, the only change was to valves.

Japanese spec have Brembos o/c, and I think the Japanese bikes also didn't have the little black plastic fork slider protector thingy. Could be wrong though - read that in a mag a while back but don't have a '95 to look at.

:D Idle, check mine out but try this for a list of differences between European spec and Japanes spec bikes :- gold brembo's, kph speedo, cdi/speed limiter, soft front fork springs, lights on all the time, and hazard light switch. If I've missed any I'm sure someone will let me know!

AFAIK there were no official changes to the Euro spec machine in its life time (only by those Engineers on here).

The left over jobbies they didnt sell in 1999 here in Aus they offloaded in 2000 as the mellenium model with it labelled as such on the fairing. But same bike just with a new label stuck on them..
