it started life in japan
then moved to england went to wales,france,belgum,luxinburg,germany (it even meet holi) austria, and italy now its going to africa.
its been to ten countrys on 3 continents.

in its stelth paint job it must be "TRX bike of international mistery"

As Jak says make sure the money is in your account, I'd give it about a week before you even think of sending the bike after the money is deposited, make excuses if your called.

Those dodgy money orders/cheques can be withdrawn even after they've been showed as cleared funds...

If ay are being serious, just take cash, no other form of payment. If he offers to pay with a draft that's a couple of grand more than you've agreed and wants you to pay 'freight' then run a mile...

You can't be the only one that doesn't know ...can you?

Thats why you leave it in the bank for a week, make sure funds are transferred and cannot be withdrawn. Maybe the person thats bought it wants to turn it into lara Crofts bike to go through the jungle, get away from the pirates.

dont do it its a scam check ebays security center they even send dodgy paypal stuff you send it then they reverse payment some holiest of holy has just tried it with me for 2 mobile phones how long have they been a ebay member ect ect

umm,, not sure how it works in ye olde colony, but once money is in your account, its a freakin BITCH to get it out.. So once you see it in, they cant take it back again, (well theres draw-back, but you basically need a police intervention to do that).

Either way, even without nigeria, thats one well traveled bike !

he paypaled the cash to me, he has brought a couple of other bikes on ebay, he is not in nigera he is in shefeild and is sending them to family members, well thats the story any way i will hold back the owner ship papers till it clears. the guy picking it up is a english guy who runs a bike recovery service. will quiz him as well. but im hoping the paypal gareentee thing will cover any thing if it goes wrong but im sure it will all be fine it goes on thursday and he paid me on sun night so if there any prob. with the payment hopefully it will have come to light by then.

quan the banks here are screwed. you can have a check clear then it will bounce later and they take the money back. not my problem if you ask me, you cleared the chque you sort it out. but they seem to be able to do some dodgy stuff and get away with it. like you said down there once it is in the bank then its yours, not here. i cant wait to get back to australian/kiwi banking systems. my bank put me in to over draft with fees then charged me for being in over draft!!!!!!!!!!!!
they are pirates who seem to think that its there money and you are just using it. one of my mates has been trying to close a account for 6 months, he with drew all money and asked for it to be closed. they then kept it open for long enough for it to collect more fees charged him for late payments on the overdraft the fees even once he had asked more than once for it to be closed. so far its cost him 55 quid to close his account. and every time he called they put him on to the coustomer retention team and nothing gets done about closing the account tey just try and sell him more crap service he dose not want.

I REALLY hope you're not being stung, Brock.

Unfortunately there have been so many scams originating from Nigeria that it's easy to assume that all deals involving Nigerians are dodgy. They're well known for "buying" mobile phones on eBay ... advertise a phone there and the price will end up in the thousands. They often pay with stolen cheques, the money from those can be taken back from you.

I would suggest you contact PayPal and ask them if the money can be recalled from you at any point, even after it has "cleared". Perhaps also ask the guy for the contact details of the firm collecting the bike so that you can check up on them too.

Google is your friend regarding any email addresses, and check BT to see if the guy is listed in the phone book. If he's given you his address in Sheffield try googling that too ... and if anyone lives/works there they could pop in the Town Hall and check the electoral records for you.

Sounds OTT, but you're not talking about £50 ... if this is a scam you could be seriously out of pocket just when you don't need it!!
