Hi there.

Picked up my TRX a couple of weeks ago, and am loving it

I had a ZX9R C1 before, and it was either going to kill me (less likely) or cause a premature demise in my licence (far more likely!), and a friend came round and offered me good money for it considering it needs tyres, a full service etc, chain and sprockets etc

I also fancied something a little different and more "characterful" and so decided on this....mildly modded TRX.

It is on perhaps the most lairy set of cans i have ever encountered, Scorpions, which look as though they never had any baffles to remove! either way they can set car alarms off with a twist of the throttle!

So far theres nothing I have found to be a major issue, i have replaced the thermostat, but it seems to run at about 60 degrees, maybe 65, however it seems this is acceptable.

I also at some point need to change the master cylinder for an R1 one as well i think.

Thoughts and advice?

I've got Scorpions on mine and the baffles jumped out and hid themselves in a corner of the garage Even when they're fitted it sounds lovely

That's a bike that's already known on this forum! I've always thought it was a 'looker'! Congratulations.

You've got the basics done already: cans, bluespot brakes, braided lines, hugger, double bubble. Where you go from there, well ........... how deep are your pockets!!

I've found all Scorpion cans to be loud. Can always get DB killers to take the edge off them if you need to.

All TRX's run quite warm: fan won't kick in until 90+ but not a problem.

clean those downpipes and get rid of all the pink bolts and its going to be OK ,, how much oil does it use ??

That temp reading is normal. It will go up a bit in traffic, but nothing like a faired four.

Any of the 14mm master cylinder and lever combinations should work fine, and give a lot more bite than the original 5/8ths item. You can get lever, reservoir and m/c on e-bay for a song, so I'd do that ASAP. Brakes are always useful!

clean those downpipes and get rid of all the pink bolts and its going to be OK ,, how much oil does it use ??

The pink] bolts and the silly pink footpegs will be getting changed at some time soon

It dosent seem to use masses of oil - about 150 mls in 500 miles so far i think which seems acceptable to me!

I sincerely apologise for the naff pink bits, but it was like that when I got it and I never got around to changing it. Glad you're enjoying the bike Dave and remember where I am if you decide to get rid. I'd have her back in a shot!!
