Any more pictures/details on the ducktail conversion? What's the seat off? How much cutting/welding did you do?
What's your plan for the headlights/clocks?
Looks like it'll be a winner!

Hello.
I have inserted new pics about the transformation work to my page on the bikepics.com link below this message. Go to the 96 TRX pics. There is a pic with the cut marks for you. Click on the pics to see my comments.
I have modified the ducktail and the seat lock so that I can use the original seat as before. It was fairly easy to do, also for an amator builder like me. The duck tail is CBR 600 RR -0X.
Still a lot to do. Next I will take everything off and powdercode the frame and wheels (black). I will take the engine from my other TRX (since this is broken) and fabricate a headlight mask (streetfighter style) , and I was thinking to use the original headlight if possible. I will also change the handelbar and all meters to a digital and smaller one. Then when everything is ready (and I have saved enough money) it will be painted here
http://www.faw.fi/.

black with authentic looking flames but also them black (but in different shads of black) Some skull have to have maybe one on the tank looking at the driver. The point should be that when one looks at the bike from the distance it looks black, nut when you are closer you start to see the details... and the bike starts to tell a story of the "Evil Pussymagnet"
How does this sound to you?

Forgot about the welding (of how much). Well, you do not need to cut the bigger pipes off entirely. Just cut from the top and inner side so that you can bend the pipes up and in. Note: try to use quite thin cutter blade. Then put on the duck tail and check the right angle. Once you are happy with it weld it. Simple as that.
!! You need to cut from the right place too!! just before the middle of the original bend. There are some small brackets or what do you call them on the bend. I cut just after them and it was working really nice.

Hi it's looking good.
Just wondering if you are going to do away with the footrests and make different exhaust hangers to alter the angle of the exhaust pipes ?
Tyres are evil and must be punished

There are always the KEDO exhaust hangers if you want to save time...

I like it. Looking forward to seeing the original headlight being used as well. Keep it up!

Hello,
I hope to get the front mask ready soon. I need to find a piece of aluminium so that I can fabricate new mounting frame for the headlight and the mask.
But once I am done I will let you know.

...And we can all see what it looks like on the bike. And then make final decision on it. (if we keep it or not.)

Here is one raw version of the mask with TRX headlight. Mask => KTM EXC 400-04. It will look better when final version ready, I hope. If not I will kill this one and make a totally new version...

Here is fairly cuurent picture of my TRX. Today the front has been removed also. The goal is to finalize the welding marks and cutting marks, and send the frame to powdercoding. The color will be close to satin black (matt with 20% shine) or something, we will see how it will turn out.
At the same time also the wheels will be done with the same color.
I will add some more photos during the progress.

Hello Guys. It has been a while but eventually the project ending date is closer.
Here are some photos for you. I hope that I will finnish this by the 13th of June. Helsinki Bike Show is then (they wellcome all bikes for the show).
Perhaps I will send some nice photos for the TRX of the month competition. You should have 2 categories: original TRX bikes and others

maybe I would have a chanse then.
The front mask is currently under work and it will have the same snake skin leather (fake) as the seat. That might look interesting (and feel)
Cheers!
