Alternative Front Fork Bottoms Mudguard

Just fitted FZR600R Fork Bottoms, Mudguard and spindle to to TRX fork tubes, new oils and seals. Look better than originals "imho"

why didn't you just fit the complete forks - they have 41mm legs don't they?

Maybe the legs were bent/rusted/generally knackered? Looks good though :D

Forgive my ignorance here but do TRX forks have rebound adjustment then ? I ask as I've just bought/won a pair of foxeye forks which I intend to replace my TRX units with but would seem silly if they are inferior items ? I assumed they would be at least as good being the exact same age. :?

Yes, the rebound adjuster is the screw inside the preload adjuster. Can be turned 'on' or 'off' :lol:

The four position adjustment on the fork tops is a combined compression and rebound damping adjustment, IIRC.

Ok thanks for replies (even the silly ones :lol: ). If these FZR forks come with less on them than the TRX ones I'm thinking there might be a way of using the best bits from both to make 1 good pair. My TRX tubes have some very minor pitting in the chrome just above the area of travel & I just bought a YZF front mudguard which I'm hoping will bolt to the FZR forks without too much butchering. [-o<

Yep, pretty cheap and nasty, the squirting of oil through sharp holes in the damper rods just makes the oil break up quickly and gives harsh damping. Better to junk the damper rod system for a pair of luverly Race Tech Gold Valve emulators and get 2 stage compression damping to sweeten the ride - the rebound will just follow on anyway :lol:

Is it just the fork sliders and wheel spindle you used or did you need the spacers etc...

TRX speedo drive, not sure on the spacer think I used the fzr600rr one
