Well im contemplating suicide now, dont know what to try now guys...can someone please help me out.
Glyns cdi turned up today as promised, many thanks bro, plugged it in and.......still the F$$$ing same problem!!!
What is going on, can a wire be dodgy but still show good continuity or am i missing something obvious?? The only thing ive got left to try that crossed my mind is, i had a sparkie wire in an alarm system that runs a remote start up via the fob so the ignition barrel/connections/key isnt used to start the bike. Im thinking would that alarm need to run into the coil wiring at any point or not???
Any thoughts would be great or if youre an electrical genius and are local please feel free to pop round!!

Probably not it but very quick to check, my bike is acting up and behaves very strange when not using the CDI mod. Just two cables to the battery´s neg so quick check...

well i just looked at the manual and as you say the grey wire only goes from the cdi to the coil ,, so can you rig it so you can swap the pickup wires , i know you tried the wire but its a common power feed to the coils so to cant be that but test it anyway for 12 volts , thats the red wire,, but you need to test the pickup in action
