Hmmmm,could be just the warm day and no airflow across the radiator.
Did you drain the coolant system or just use a couple of 5mm bolts to plug the carb heater hoses when you took the carbs off?
It`s very unlikely there`s an air lock,TRX`s don`t seem to be a model that suffers from such things.
Mine runs very cool on a 50% ethylene glycol(antifreeze)and deionised water mix(important not to use tap water because of the dissolved salts and added chemicals,they play havoc with aluminium and radiator cores)
Now I`ve got FCR`s on mine I`ve just used some silicon tubing to complete the `loop` in the coolant path that used to provide the deicing provision for the stock carbs.
I`ve no temperature guage as mine is streetfightered and I like the minimalist look.I do have an oil temperature guage that screws into the oil tank filler neck though(technically it`s only measuring the oil tank temperature because the sensor probe doesn`t reach the oil)but it looks nice.
