R1 Blue spots

Will any year R1 calipers fit the TRX?

Not latest 6 piston radial ones but all blue/gold spot callipers so R1, R6, thundercat/ace etc.

realised the mono-blocs wouldn't, but 99% sure blue spots would.

just make sure the ones you get are not corroded on the pistons ,,they need to be kept clean

Just BiN'd a complete system on ebay, calipers, braided lines, M/C, reservoir and lever for a Â£100, seems a fair price and only down the road.

Nice one, you would struggle to buy it all for less individually.

Looks in very good condition too.

I think the R6 and R1 blue/gold spots are monobloc, and ever so slightly better* than Thundercat/ace blue spots.

* In a 'top trumps' kind of way. They're all better than the standard Sumitomos. I still think a decent (15mm) master cylinder would work well with the import Brembos.

picked them today, very pleased nice and clean

The seller had crashed his R1 and then bought lots of spares to rebuild it. Only when he put the belly pan on did he find it was touching the front wheel. Plenty of parts going if anyone wants stuff, including forks.

Fitted them yesterday. Pistons were very clean and pushed in very smoothly and easily, only awkward bit was having to swap the reservoir and pipe over. The R1 pipe was too short.

The brake pipes are at a slight angle compared to the originals and catch on the line guides. I will probably swap them for the new braided ones I fitted to the old brakes, hopefully the slight angle on the caliper banjo will help guide clearence.

Looking good BBB. I would be fighting the urge to Rossi rep' it if my bike was blue.

Had to turn my braided hose around when my blue spots went on so the calliper ends bolted to the master cylinder & vice versa due to the angle of the fittings. Just a thought ?

a rossi paint job has crossed my mind more than once. especially yesterday afternoon, can't think why.
Would need a different tail unit, quite fancy an R1 type.

Rumour has it Mr Rossi is a prick who dives up the inside & stuff. You might want to give that some thought before you bite the bullet BBB ?

My fav' if my bike was blue would be the Gaouloises scheme from 2005.

You might struggle finding a place for the big GAULOISES fairing stickers though ?

Your paintwork looks very good from those pictures. Would be a shame to plaster it in stickers only to decide you didn't like it.

Took the bike out last night, first time since doing the brakes, forks and carbs.

Those brakes are astounding, never had anything like that on a bike before
