Ok ... back on topic
Greg ... well, when you told me you'd probably have to sell the TRX I seem to remember telling you that you'd regret it. So .... I told you so

Re: Well I had a sh!t week ...
Hurting just doesn't cover it... I'm really fukkin depressed...! Seriously, I was properly attached to that bike, although I didn't realise just how much til I saw it on the back of the Belgian's trailer...
On a kinda sensible note, it's (almost) interesting to look at the psychology of human attachment to inanimate things... what is it that makes something 'special' to you..?
For me, in this case it was like bringing a Phoenix back from its ashes having built the bugger from two wrecks and a box or two of bits... then with all the other stuff I've never done to a bike before.... yeah, I was stuck like fukken glue. God only knows how the Youngster must have felt when his minter was trashed...
So - now, do I sit and sulk? Definitely, even if it's just for a couple of days - at least the Belgian is a proper TRXer (he's got three plus a 900 TDM hybrid..) and he appreciates the bike and won't run it low on oil and will thrash it round Spa...
The NS just isn't doing it for me yet .... only yet mind, so I think I'll give it a chance, but for the time being it's going back under the dustsheet in the garage until I can muster sufficient enthusiasm for it, but yes, I know I should have sold the NS instead of the TRX, and knowing that doesn't makes things any fukken easier
.
ps - anyone want any TRX spares..??

Re: Well I had a sh!t week ...
Have you considered selling the NS also Greg ? You could then buy another fixer upper TRX & still have change.
I had an RZ250RR YPVS which I stripped & rebuilt. It was a superb hooligan bike which I will remember fondly but if I still had it, & the TRX but had to sell one of them.. . .
I'm off to Leeds tomorrow (125 miles) for the 3rd time since buying the TRX to visit my sister. Tried it once on the RZ but had to complete the last 35 miles with bike in the back of a van.
Know what I'm trying to say ?
I really feel for you as you obviously thought you were doing the right thing at the time. You can't possibly know how you will feel until you're faced with the reality of not having it, by which time it's just a little bit too late.
What spares you got ?

SpAres ... bloody loads!
3 cranks, 1 good, one potentially recoverable, 1xold 360 with cams
short bellypan in red gelcoat
blue tailpiece
engine cases
gearbox internals
clutch
electrics - coil, reg/rec, cdi
carbs
Top yoke and lock
if there's anything needed just holler...

I'm after a frame & engine if you got one going spare ?
Think Trixynut might be interested in your left hand engine casing when his poorly little fingers are all better ?

The Youngster had the frame and the engine's in about a gazillion bits...
Was the last 35 miles due to mechanical or physical failure..??
I'm almost feeling goaded into doing it now... thanks Max lol...

You're going to be so frustrated with that three cylinder smoking noise maker. Don't forget to downshift three gears every time you want to move forward and take out some extra life insurance if you plan on trying to ride it fast. Do they even make halfway decent tires for it anymore?
Geez, had it been a RG500r or RZV at least you'd have something... but a lowly 400 triple, and Honda at that?
