Standard exhaust differences

Post by dandywarhol » Tue Jun 16, 2009 10:26 pm

This might have been mentioned before but I can't find it.........................

I got a good condition, used stock silencer on ebay and realised it's from an import. The inner tube is 7mm smaller diameter than the UK one :? .........it's even quieter than the 4UN one!

Are the import 4NX models restricted in the exhaust as well as the ignition? Time for a bafflectomy methinks 8)

:? I thought they were the same diameter, When you say inner tube, are you talking about the rear or where they slide onto the headers, I only use mine for the MOT. Have posted on here before, but the import is restricted on CDI only, not on the silencers. Is there a mark on the silencer that states that its an import (Ive never looked)?

Definately an import silencer, same diameter where it joins the downpipes but the inner pipe at the end is smaller - I'll take a pic tomorow
