FZR 600R Forks

Hello,
Waiting for a pair of '94 foxeye FZR600R forks to turn up. I was going to swap the lowers with the trx forks but I'm now thinking I'll just put them straight on. The trx forks have a pair of Ohlins springs in them so I want to fit them in the FZR forks with fresh oil. I know I'll lose the rebound but it doesn't make an obvious difference anyway so I'm not too bothered.

Other than an fzr spindle, washer and spindle nut along with a new fender and fitting kit is there anything else I will need to fit the trx spacers, speedo drive and wheel to the forks?

Any recomendations for fork oil weight and height in the fork or any drawbacks with the fzr forks?

I bought Hyperpro springs for my FZR forks. Think the air gap was 120 with them but I had to cut 15mm off the spacer tubes To get the caps on & they were still acting on the springs a bit at that. Think the oil supplied with springs was 10w.
Nothing other than what you've already mentioned is needed. Gap between FZR forks for the wheel & spacers is identical to the TRX.
I tried using just the bottoms but had some issued with springs binding in the TRX stanchions so just fitted the whole lot. If you're struggling to find an FZR front mudguard at the right price then a YZF750 one bolts straight in so probably the same item.
Much firmer now, probably a bit too firm for normal road use if I'm honest but still better than the alternative & looks way cooler to me too.

forks arrived in the post this morning, need to get the spindle and nut a fender and fitting kit. Does anybody know if the trx springs will fit the fzr forks? Only ask as I replaced the trx springs with ohlins and want the benefit. May involve choping / adding spacers for length but if the spring diameter is way off

ohlins list the same TRX springs for the FZR so no probs there. Need to cut the spacers down to 17mm to fit though. FZR airgap 101mm with 10w oil so think I will work with that.

Any advice on getting a straight cut on the spacer, read that some people have used plastic waste pipes of the right diameter but at 17mm may be strong enough.

Just waiting on the mudguard from into bikes (CF ) and the front spindle from Yamaha.

Well, i went past an early thunderpussy yesterday and looked at the forks....those had preload, rebound damping and compression damping....so i really don´t know what´s up??

Thundercat (YZF600) forks are different to FZR600 forks. I've got Thundercat forks on my TRX and they're night and day different to the TRX forks they replaced. They fit straight in with a couple of extra spacers on the spindle and everything lines up nicely.

Is the fork oil level measured with the leg extended or collapsed?

Thought it would be 101mm from the top of the stanchion with the spring removed and the leg compressed.

Any help appreciated
