Headlights

Just thought i would post to get some ideas from people-as most owners will know the headlights on the TRX arnt that great compared to more modern bikes-just wondering if anyone has made some mods to improve their trx's.I had a very early morning ride last week and it was a little hairy to say the least.
My dipped beam is utterly useless and never use it prefering to use main beam all the time-as the main is the only light on I dont tend to get flashed.This main beam is very bright (using a blue bulb from halfords) however it lights up mostly the right side of the lane.Turning into left corners has proved to be a little tricky.
Anyone have any ideas on improving the dipped or have a different configuration.Any views will be appreciated-winter nights soon to be on us so better headlights would be far better!

At least 2 HID conversions has been made at the site and my matey prolly going that route, meself drives with at black cover over the headligts and never in dark

Hey Alex,

I too wasn't keen on the image provided by my headlight. I've changed it into a Xenon conversion 8000k(so no Bi!) last year.
In september this year I finally drove into the night and I must say, WHAT an improvement

The roadsigns light up from even more distance and the projection ahead and on the road is significant better!

The total amount of money for me €150euro and some time for getting it on the bike.

I did have some problems along the way as you can read below , but that aside, it's still worthy to do!


Well after some work at home and at the job, I've found some bits of time to mount the Xenon on
Sadly, it al went wrong .... (Xenon failure issue story see here )

After installing the 'plug and play' Xenon, it wouldn't 'fire up', it was more of a stroboscope. While starting the engine, hoping it would provide enough voltage to get a beam, my fuel tap broke . It didn't make any difference to the Xenon, it still didn't work right
I was lucky, that the engine was cold and that the petrol didn't catch fire due to the electrical current failure of the Xenon
I installed the Xenon on the car and it would 'fire up' but then went straight back to the stroboscope effect I've send it back to the manufacturer.




Here's a picture of all the wires and the ballast, positioned on top of the headlight. Nice and tidy (for a semi full - fairing bike eejj )




In short.... in the end (with confusion) switched the ground wires and it worked A fault in the wiringdiagram by the manufacturer
