Re: Painting
there isn't just one tip for a good finish ,, prep, clean area, correct temp and humidity, correct paint , filter paint before loading in the gun, clean air out of the compressor, proper air extractor, the correct amount of thinners in the paint ,SKILL,the list goes on and on , and if you an get someone to do it in two pack for less than £500 snatch there hand off , if it is a lot cheaper i would be suspicious of the finish you will get , give dream machine a ring and see what they say ,and good luck with it,, it looks a cracking scheme you have planed

Re: Painting
Fair comment on the number of things that can cock up a paint finish. The last time I had a go at spraying it was heavy on the orange peel (which I could have flatted out) but my biggest issue was how soft the finish was. Any suggestions on why it was so soft that I could mark it with a finger nail (used Acrylic filler primer, base coat and lacquer)steve speed wrote:there isn't just one tip for a good finish ,, prep, clean area, correct temp and humidity, correct paint , filter paint before loading in the gun, clean air out of the compressor, proper air extractor, the correct amount of thinners in the paint ,SKILL,the list goes on and on , and if you an get someone to do it in two pack for less than £500 snatch there hand off , if it is a lot cheaper i would be suspicious of the finish you will get , give dream machine a ring and see what they say ,and good luck with it,, it looks a cracking scheme you have planed

If you like the 2005 Valencia M1-R with red/black on white then check out this old beastie!

Very similar styled to the TRX! I think it looks hot, it's pretty much what I have in mind for my TRX race fairings
