I'm starting to get the tiniest amount of rust sediment in my tank, enough to make the bike run a bit funny. Have read that you can use vinegar as a flushing agent to remove rust within tanks as it is a very mild acid (acetic, I think?) - advantage being that you wont harm your paintwork.
Anyone else heard of this?
Am planning to flush out the tank in a few weeks, when I get a few days off. Would rather not splash out and have to buy a new tank (how much are they these days - $1000AUD?), been there done that years ago when the tank on my Guzzi was soooo rusted, even after Kreem coating it, that I had to buy a new tank
Does anyone do an alloy version? I know The Tank Shop in Scotland might and you'd be looking at around 400GBP + 100 for shipping. Anyone on this side of the world?
BTW, what is the ID of the fuel lines, 6 or 8mm? Was thinking I might put some inline fuel filters in to see how much is in there.
