Selling my TRX - maybe?

Have had the TRX for 6 years now and am giving consideration to selling. What say the TRX massive? should i stay or should I go

It's sad that you have to sell (or at least think to), but I must agree that when you race, you want to be competitive!

That said, I can't get to the idea (like others here), that after such a long while you really want to get rid of the TRX.....

Ps. I would be interested in your 'track-trim' fairing when it goes 'in bits' (I feel like a vulture now though )

If I can find a class I can race the TRX in where it will be even vaguely competitive, it will be staying (and turned into a race bike with a daytime MOT)

I've had several moments in my TRX "Period" about selling the TRX.....

reason 1 (stopping with motorcycle-riding): Friends with motorcycle accidents.

reason 2 looking for another model. Well, I found out, when i was considering another bike, that there is really no replacement for the TRX and would finally ended up buying a another TRX



So MHO is..........don't sell it ................except if the 20?? TRX1200 came in production

Don't do it.

I did and now miss my TRX badly.

I still have a road bike,but it is not as much fun as the TRX was.

The reason that I sold the TRX was that I became bored with it.

In hindsight I wish that I had kept her and developed the engine a bit more.

These bikes have a soul that can't be found elsewhere for the price.

Even my wife has commented that I am not as happy without my TRX.

Listen to the people who have sold theirs,most of them are not happy.
Also never get involved in a sport that has an ambulance waiting at the finish line.

Yeah, second place kinda sucked. We were really hoping to win!

I do highly recommend giving Endurance a go. The first 4 hours I ran was on a TL1000R. 50hp (listed) over the TRX but the lap times were about the same. Our total time was shorter with the TRX as we had to fix broke stuff on that POS Suzuki. Besides, it was so much more fun seeing the look on the Ducati 999 guys next pitbox over when we beat them to the second spot on the podium. They even had a journo on their team, documenting the whole thing.

The other nice thing about Endurance is you get more track time for your money, time is the equalizer and all in all it's just more fun and less stress. My sprint days were done 20 years ago.

But if you want a soul-less screamer that won't leave you any excuses for not bringing home the gold go right ahead.

Mallory Park is about the only track I can hold my own against the IL4s and even then the short straight kills the TRX. Totally agree about endurance racing but there are some fairly serious racers over here and it is a big thing - the senior class races with quick release wheels, speed fillers etc over 6 hours.

I'm looking at doing tag race endurance where you race with 2 bikes over 3 or 4 hours. After a maximum of 30 mins, you have to pit and swap the transponder from one bike to the next and then you are away.

I've never heard of such a race, but I would really take part in one if I could Probably not here in Dutchieland
