top yoke for street fighter

Post by handsomejackuk » Wed Sep 02, 2009 11:08 am

hi,

thinking of going down the streetfighter rout on my trx. i want to keep as much of the original body work as possible, and just get a higher riding position. is the any other top yoke that will fit the trx ?

ideally a yoke without the clipon cut out in there ?

I looked into this a while ago and didn't find anything that'd be a direct swap. The original Fazer 600 yokes have the same pitch but a slightly different offset. The stems are the same length so I'd imagine it'd be fairly straightforward to just swap the TRX yokes for the Fazer ones and all the standard TRX stuff will fit as you're only swapping the yokes. The Fazer bottom yoke is cast steel (although you could get a nice billet ally one machined up...)

I had thought that a recent XJ900 top yoke might fit straight on but I never got close enough to one to measure it and couldn't find any dimensions on t'internet.

I think the ones you can buy at streetfighter.com need the fairng modifying to avoid bar/fairing interfacing on lock.....

The top yoke off an FZR750 (and probably an FZR400 3EN2) will fit and it doesn't have the bits cut out for clip-ons. You'd still need to drill it to fit risers but it'd look a bit tidier.
