I reckon if i was buying new I'd go for the 675 naked from Triumph or if I had some cash the 848. Not much else out there appeals to me. Then again I'd like to spend the money on some serious suspension, s/charger and engine mods on the TRX and a good tidy up.

All a mute point anyway. Yamaha is soon to release a 1200 parallel twin super tenere. That is the motor I would like to see in a new TRX.

A TRX1200! Me like!!! Although I'd settle for a 1000 with less weight...

those pics are quite old and frankly they were unsubstantiated bad photoshops in the day. If you want the real info check out Yamaha's website: http://www.yamaha-motor-europe.com/super-tenere/Mincehead wrote:Yep,I had already seen some pics somewhere,so here`s a link:

or have a look at the "concept bike" (if it's even worth that name already) Yamaha showed at the Tokyo show:
http://www.autoblog.com/2009/10/22/toky ... nows-wher/
Note that the 1200cc that is quoted all over the web did not originate from Yamaha itself. It is far from sure that a new engine will be developed for it. They might just stick to the 900cc from the TDM in stead of investing in a new large bore parallel twin (1200cc would be overkill imho, KTM has proven that 900-1000cc is more than sufficient).
However, if they do develop a new engine it would make no business sense at all to only use it in the Super Ten and a new TRX / TDM are quite likely to be on teh tabel at that point.

Well that one on the first link isn`t going anywhere without crankcases now is it,and what`s that I see?
An old iron bar highly polished, masquerading as shaft drive no doubt!
As for the second link,I can`t comment, techy stasi won`t permit me to view blogs from the works pc.

The 'what if?' TRX900 looks a bit crap I think. It's too pointy and too styled and Yamaha would never build it anyway cos it wouldn't sell enough. That said, I would like 120bhp from my bike please, Mr Yamaha
