Standard bore 2-1 exhaust? Anyone interested?
I'm going to take the headers off my bike up to an exhaust specialist and see if they can convert them to 2-1 and fit a larger 50mm link pipe in place of the standard one. If it's possible they might be able to use them as a pattern and make a few sets. Would anybody be interested in a set? They'll be stainless but I don't know how much they'd cost (yet).

standard headers are stupidly restrictive and you really would be wasting your money if you are looking for any form of performance gain
If I still has stock headers, I'd go for 2 nice cans rather than a single can
but that's just me

Should we ask Kayla for photographic evidence re: her cans?

Aaaanyhoo, I went up and dropped the headers off at the exhaust place. It'll be a couple of weeks before I get them back but they can do it.

I'm having my standard 2-2 import headers converted into a 2-1 by an exhaust place in Newcastleslow codger wrote:Interesting but I dont have a link pipe, just a 2 into 2, Is this standard for an old import??

they do really, really nice stuff.
I asked them if they could convert the TRX headers into a 2-1 with a view to having a pattern made from them. The 2-1 will use the standard right hand link pipe so the 'new' headers will bolt straight onto a TRX using just one silencer, either standard or aftermarket. Not from a performance gain point of view, more a weight saving thing. The whole thing will use just the right hand silencer assembly so any can and link pipe you have on now will fit, attaching at the same point on the frame but losing the entire left hand assembly and losing a few kg off the rear of the bike.
My set will use the standard bore link pipe which will probably be restrictive but the copies could be made with a 50mm link pipe to join straight into a generic 50mm can.
