Standard bore 2-1 exhaust? Anyone interested?

My carbon Microns weigh the same as a single standard silencer (which I also have for finnicky MOT testers - I think the not for road use on the back of the Microns puts them off!)

The standard ones are horrendously heavy, yes. Using aftermarket cans saves about 6kg or so which is the weight of a standard silencer. Using a 2-1 would save a further 2.5 to 3kg I think. I know I'm obsessing but I can and I will I had a couple of aluminium cans on mine but fancied something different.

Can't you just put a plate over that? or polish it out (as has allegedly been done to a pair of Scorpion cans I might've seen somewhere) ... as long as the MOT tester can't read the words "not for road use" then they just use their judgement on the noise level. I think ... I might be wrong though.

That's right. As long as there's nothing on the exhaust that says otherwise it's all down to the tester's discretion. For the time it takes to swap them over though, it's not worth taking the pee and risking a fail, only to have to come back down to the garage a half an hour later with the legal ones on for a 'retest'. Don't ask how I know

I believe that you can cover them with tape as well, MOT person is not allowed to remove it in case they cause damage!!

Blimey that's quiet - my Devil was measurd at 107.2 at Cadwell! Even with the baffle in it was over 105

But not as good as the gixxer thou in front of me that went past 115db, they wouldnt let him on the track!!
