Don`t bank on it,especially if Katla erupts too.
Historically the scenario is very likely unfortunately,I`ve a friend in Iceland and things there are pretty bad.

hmmm interesting ... esp. the bit about the last three Eyjhlllwaknfoeanuyll (or whatever) eruptions triggering Katla eruptions :?

One thing though ... shouldn't the scientist blokey be described as a volcanologist ... surely a vulcanologist is more interested in Spock 8-[

I`m quite interested in valocanicity,Katla could be a monster and may possibly create similar problems to those experienced when another Icelandic volcano erupted in 1783 Laki:
