I think i was pissed when i wrote my last post, oh and pissed off. I had just discovered water in the oil and oil in the water. Anyhow it seems to have been the head gasket. Will never use anything but genuine Yam ones from now on. Also pissed off cause i cant afford to take it to Europe again this year, thats 2 years missed now. For now Frankensteins monster lives.

Has anyone actually devised a fix or head re-con/re-design for this problem yet? I have 2 heads in the shed both showing the same symptoms. Ok, so maybe a fix is out of reach, but surely there must be someone who can bore the head and fit shells.

You could try Joy Engineering, I`m not sure of his business web address but he`s been reclaiming heads and cams for years, found this:

Joy Engineering
Ryes Lane Hatfield Heath Nr. Bishop Stortford Hertfordshire CM22 7BS
Contact: Phill Joy 01279 730682 joyessexcottage.freeserve.co.uk

Good luck with your enquiry and post on the forum if you find out if he can do it?

Will do. Might be able to turn a profit on the spare heads if they can be saved.
