I've been trying to trace the cause of a misfire, when I went to check the timing though I found that oil was spraying out of the timing inspection plug. Is the alternator area exposed to normal crankcase pressure or has a seal gone in there somewhere?

Re: Timing check
The alternator area is exposed to normal crankcase pressure. It could be that the O ring of the inspection plug is shagged.

Thanks Smithers, I was worried something serious had gone bung in there.
