hi all you trx owners ,just want to say ,then pick ya brains for trx knowledge.pre thanks.
bought a trx with its inherited running probs ,
despite looking at posts on forum i would like to know if float height should be set whilst carbs on the bike or whilst off .
not sure if workshop manual method poss .it says jack engine up until carbs are vertical,
also what is the standard postion of clip on the needle.
just need to the bike back to standard settings so i can make neccessary improvements to suit current exhaust /filter etc.
i know its a well worn subject ,so i am sure you can chuck in yer 10p worth,somethings are clear as mud in manuals of lets strip it and leave em quessing !!!!!!!!!

Follow the instruction on the factory pro website for float height,

it sounds like it might have a factory pro kit fitted already as the standard needle has only one position.
The middle position is the standard setting for the clip.
Let us know how you go!
Edit: should elaborate: It's easier to set the float height with the carbs off! You have to take them off anyway to do the adjustments.

got a bill with bike for £260 ,from previous owner,for CHECKIN /replacing valve shims .
i rechecked em and found 4 of em totally wrong ,now set correctly
looks like pro emulsions fitted
float height was about 10 mm ,now at 15mm
needle is set on bottom notch.
i guess some one been using the "FORCE" to set bike up.
i need to check what jets are fitted before stickin it back to-gether .
will let you know if it runs when i get it set up a bit nearer to where it should be .
its a bit off struggle with me broken fingers ,bloody motor bikes

Sounds like you know what you're doing!
I just did my valve shims, what a terrbile job
It was worth it though runs heaps better! I guess valve clearance is a good thing
