going to do along trip on the trx shortly and find that my back side goes numb after about 150 miles,and have to take short breaks, so spoiling my tour,any cheap ideas to get comfy,thinking of wrapping a pillow round if anyone has had gel fitted in seat and it works i wouldnt mind paying,or would i get away with just putting more foam in help appreciated

I had a strap-on gel seat cover and it worked great til it fell off on the M5 dont ask! Cant remember where I got it from though, soz.

Another tip is buy some of the padded bicycling shorts for a bit of extra comfort.

Or eat a load of pies for some extra "junk in the trunk"

TBH 150 miles before your arse goes numb is pretty good going on any bike I reckon.

Here in the land of meat pies and Holden cars we have a product call a Airhawk, which is basically a cushion that fits over your bike seat and it is an air cushion .
You can blow it up to get just the right amount of cushioning and it is just the bees knees.
There is no discomfort whatsoever and I can ride between fuel stops without feeling the need to rest an aching and numb bum, and it even fits and looks ok on the bike. It has a rubberised base so it does not slide around on the seat
I car't know if it is available there in the UK, but would be surprised if it, or something similar isn't.

had a old seat bought a memory foam pillow of ebay £7.00,removed staples on seat and stuffed in the pillow just done 140 miles none stop and ass was fine,i also raised the clip ons to the top of the legs with spacers cracking touring bike now,just need some younger knees now
