My bike been stolen !!!!

Post by masterbill » Sat Jul 31, 2010 8:58 am

Hello,

Woke up this morning made a cup of tea, looked out the kitchen window down the garden to
the garage. First thing I noticed was that the side door had been forced.

Went inside and the TRX was gone :(

Here is a pictue of the old girl.

http://trx850.motomaniac.net/forum/view ... =44&t=5140

I have put some 6 pot calipers on it recently andd I had polished the sides up on them but otherwise it's the same.

The bodywork had ben data tagged and the number is 128588.

Will update later

Hello,

Reg no - Yes good idea.

P988 XPR

I allways keep a check on the TRX stuff on ebay, but will take a lot more notice.

I am gutted - the garage was broken into in april and I thought that I made it secure

Will put up pictures later.

Sh*t mate, that's awful. We'll all be keeping an eye open for stuff popping up for sale. (Especially a red tank for me!).
I always thought that the TRX was off the scumbags radar now, to limited a market for the bits 'cos we're a pretty select club now. I thought R1's and Gixxers would be the targets.
Time for us all to review our security ??
Rubber side down, Red side up is my preferred riding style.

I'm not a million miles away either so I'll keep my eyes open too! What utter bastards - it's not so long since a couple of others had attempts made on their bikes, plus Doyle's was nicked and that guy on ebay too.

EDIT : I've moved this to an area where more are likely to read it AND I've made it an announcement so it should get more attention that way too.

Sorry to hear about your bike. I'm up in the North East but I'll certainly keep an eye out for TRX bits on ebay.

Bloody scumbags need their hands chopping off and then locked in the stocks and pelted with cabbages. Will keep checking ebay and local free ads for any bits.

Hello,

Thanks boys 8)

As the day has worn on it's pi**ed me off more. I honestly though I done a good job on the door after the last break in. I had been chaining the bikes together but I got feed up with the simple effort of locking and unlocking when I wanted to move one.

Going to have another go at security   tomorrow

Ferkin rat kids or some low life skank head tried to nick mine from under it`s cover just over a week ago up here in Edinburgh. She lives outside under my first floor flat and is secured by a 5/8" bowden cable and Kryptonite lock to my MuZ Skorpion.
They cut the bootlaces from the cover eyelets at the back, cut straight through the cover eyelets at the front and tried to drop her off the rear paddock stand.
In so doing the bike dropped quickly and forced the tops of the paddock stand into the carbon sleeves on my pipes, cracking them!
The rear suspension linkage is off the bike so it`s likely that at that point they realised they couldn`t wheel her away even if they managed to cut the cable lock.So she was abandoned but the parting shot was that the ferker must have hit out at my Skorpion (again under a Motrax cover) breaking the right hand mirror head from it`s stem.
I`ve since removed the other mirror because it was useless having just a nearside mirror.
Organised bike thefts (stolen to order) are on the increase everywhere sadly but I`m sure mine was a sneak thief attempt, likely to sell on for a few hundred quids worth of drugs.
As I`ve already said on another thread, ANYONE ferkin with my rides will get a wrecking bar kiss if I find or see them.

 Some right thieving tossers everywhere you look. Pay a visit to local bike breakers within a 20 mile radius, see what they have!

Hello,

Thanks everyone ;)

Spent allday sorting the door out - basically I have renewed the lot. The frame was a mess, I expect it has been there for a long time.

Made a new frame and used a solid fire door that I just happened to have, put in two good quality locks and I have a 3rd one to fit (std type) Kept the gaps nice and small.

Will be fitting a garage defender type thing.

On my window I will replace the wooden bars with metal ones - but it all takes time.

Only reliased today that some tools were missing aswell, My socket set and a few other things.

I have got to keep them out because once in my garage they have got all the tools they need to do what they want.

Angle grind for locks, crow bars for levers etc.

The garage is pretty secluded and once in nobody would know your there.

Been looking around my place and in my greenhouse there are some garden tools that they could use. Pick axe :!: Axe :!:

Saws for shrubs and trees etc.

Nearly killed the Missus when she said " You should have done that in the first place "

Hello,

Well it's been found and it's not to badly damaged.

My Son was on his way to a job and he had just passed his In-laws house and it was parked about 50 yards away from their place :!:  :o

He called me and I called the police, I went along to have a look. The Ignition switch was drilled to death, there are a few dents in the tank, the seat has man better looking/dressed than me burns in it. A few scrapes here and there on the cans.

There were some young lads hanging about and when my Son described them to the police they knew who he was talking about. The police said that 25 or so bikes had been stolen in our area recently and most of them end up burnt out - so I was lucky.

The police said that they were getting the evidence against them

Anyway she's now in the in -laws garage waiting for the fingerprint people.

I went home, which isn't far away ,phoned up Carol naish and told them the story. Was about to go back to work when the Insurance company phoned me. :o

Gave them the story and the lady told me that I can call the break down service and they will bring it back to my place.

I'm now going to get a new ignition switch and when I get her back I will see if I can get here going and see if the motor has been damaged etc.

had a look for an Ignition switch with M&P and it's not listing one , do you boys know if any others are the same ?

Will have a look at fleabay.

Will post pictures etc.

Cheers for now
Bill
