2-1 headers (again!)

Out of curiousity, would there be interest in me having some stainless 18swg 2-1 headers made up to suit the TRX? They'd fit the standard bike around the standard swingarm and rearsets, using the standard right side exhaust hanger. They'd be standard bore at the headers but have a 50mm exit on the right where the standard pipe is, with a 50mm link pipe to suit any 50mm can and cut around 10kg off the standard system, or around 3kg if you're already using race cans. Obviously my over-use of the word 'standard' here is trying to emphasise the fact they'd fit straight on to A.N Other TRX

I'd have to order 5 sets initially and they'd probably cost around £300 for stainless (they also do titanium but that would be £££££ )

If it's the one I'm thinking of, yes it probably would be cheaper to heat and bend that one, but it wouldn't be hand made in Britain and TIG welded together, and it would probably have a 38mm exit on the right rather than a 50mm one I think they're the same ones Sandy Bike Spares sell that are made in the Far East.

So, not much interest in a 2-1 exhaust then?

Why not a big bore (42mm-ish) 2-1 with "powerbombs" ending up in 60mm high mount or even under seat? I have 60mm on my Akra and there are PLENTY 60mm cans on evilbay. Then i would probably cough up some dosh!

you can either have the link pipe daimeter stretched (just need to find an engineering firm with a pipe spreader) or reduce the inlet (can be tapered or replaced by anyone who can weld and has access to a short piece of pipe)

The extra work would push the price up too much, and there's no dyno evidence to back up a 'powerbomb' on the TRX engine. I understand the principle, it's like a mini expansion chamber, but I don't think the cost of the extra work would be borne by people buying the pipes.

The exhaust company can produce the headers in 1.5" (standard) or 1.75" (42mm internal) pipe. The 1.5" headers would have a 2" (50mm) link/collector and the 1.75" headers would have a 2.5" (60mm internal) link/collector.

So, is there any interest in a big bore, plain tube stainless exhaust? The exhaust company also have CNC machining tools so would produce a stainless split header clamp to replace the frankly ridiculous standard one piece Yam one.

You´re right, PB are a really nice dB killer as well.
But yeah, i would be interested and i would guess me mate is as well...seems he got the bug and going for flatties and your R6 adapter

...and my akrapovic would generate some good money on the evilbay....

Hi Kenny, the company could do a 2-1-2 but they'd need a bike to work from- they can't use mine because it's only got one exhaust mount on the frame.

So, Killerwhale and his friend are two, plus me is three, any more? They'll do a minimum of five, after that (once they've made a jig for the headers) they can do them to order but they want a minimum of five orders initially to make it worth their while, which is fair enough.

Was thinking about this a bit....
On my standard headers i have something called a supercan and it does wonders for the low/mid power.
Kinda same as the link down low on the standards but theese actually make a great difference, sold one set to someone on the forum as well and his dip in mid power was gone after the change!
Can we have something similar??
