Was thinking about this a bit....
On my standard headers i have something called a supercan and it does wonders for the low/mid power.
Kinda same as the link down low on the standards but theese actually make a great difference, sold one set to someone on the forum as well and his dip in mid power was gone after the change!
Can we have something similar??
Pic:

Kenny- I didn't ask about a 2-1-2 but I'd hazard a guess at £350, simply because of the extra material and work. I'll ask the next time I go up to see them.
Killer- No offense, but is that real? I kind of understand the idea, it looks like the same kind of thing as a boost bottle on a two stroke intake.

Yep i kid you not, not only does it do wonders for the low/mid as said it actually lower the dB as well.
I use to run theese downpipes on track as we have some insane dB rules in Sweden!!

Two thoughts, for me it has to clear an YZF swinger (over system doesn´t)
...and it would be nice if it cleared left side on bellypans (akra 2-1 doesn´t)

Hi Killer,
I don't have a bellypan to have it shaped around so couldn't guarantee it would clear ok. As for the wider swingarm issue, I could use my bike with the Thunderace swingarm fitted which is the same width as the YZF arm and use the standard exhaust hanger so everything would line up ok for a completely standard bike. Is that any good?

Absolutely, i can add that the akra swings a bit to left before going right and up. My MAB was centered snug under enjun and i think that would be just OK! And you have the TRXOTM to check out akra

If I go ahead and order the headers, I'd give them my bike with standard footrests and r/h exhaust hanger to work with. That way they've got a bike with standard mounting points and hardware to work around, as well as the wider swingarm to accomodate. That should cover all the bases, shouldn't it?

It should for sure, and i guess we have a company who can make add-ons for us who perhaps want to mount the can a tad higher
Meanwhile, check this handbent ti 2-1-2 full system from Japan (of cource). Cost like a UK bike....

Was thinking of another thing, what charecteristics do we get if pipes go together sooner rather than later? hmmm
edit: Google is friend!
http://www.ehow.com/list_5806222_flow-c ... folds.html (here they have another word for the supercan)
So shorter headers = better top end HP ....we want that??

They'd join up under the engine near the mounting point like the Akrapovic system. I'll go up to see them this week to get a definite quote for making the pipes up.

Hi
What difference will they make to the power? Will it improve it at all or just move it, I really like the mid range shove my bike has but a perkier top end as well would be the icing on the cake. Also will the carb need jetting to match or is it a more subtle change. Sorry for all the questions.
Thanks
Heath

The main aim is weight loss- they'll be a good chunk lighter than the standard system (one less can, link pipe and exhaust hanger) but as far as power goes, I really don't know. The 2-1 on my bike hasn't made much (if any) difference to the power and I've left the jetting as it was with the standard pipes with no ill effects. I'd imagine, with a larger cross section they'll flow more gas at higher revs which would give a slightly higher peak at slightly higher revs with a corresponding loss in the low-mid range.
