Cheap Digital Speedo/Tacho?

Post by n8balls » Sat Aug 28, 2010 12:05 am

Hey riders, has anyone got experience with these cheap digital speedo/tacho/fuel gauges? They look like copies of more expensive ones

http://www.dan-moto.com/lcd-digital-spe ... 826hle9ag0

My question is more about universal digital gauges rather than this particular unit:

1. I understand that for the speedo, you put a magnetic pick up on your front wheel and input the diameter but, is the tacho input compatible with the TRX motor’s tacho output?
2. Also can the TRX fuel gauge output interface ok with a unit like this?

Cheers, N8

The round version is a Chinese copy of a much more expensive Acewell unit, blatant copy too I might add.

Hi there.
Go for a Koso RX2N. Bought mine from the UK for approx. £180.
Super easy to install and has a _lot_ of features. Fits nicely besides the Garmin gps instead of the original instruments,
Only thing missing is the fuel gauge, but I suppose you'll have to fit a TDM tank to get that feature. I'm using the gps fuel gauge instead.

I'll take some pictures if you want....

Hi alextrx850.
:) You noticed the engine light.
That is actually the only indicator I can't make any use for - all the rest is working (oil/water temp, oil pressure, high speed warning, turn signals, neutral, high beam, gear shift warning)
What fun stuff can I make to use this indicator?
