I'm quite new to this forum, although I've been a TRX owner for almost 2 years.
I hope some of you can offer me some advice:
I have a fairly standard TRX with a couple of Shark carbon exhausts (loud!) and a K&N airfilter in the original airfilter box. The bike is trimmed quite ok: it delivers 80.5 HP at the rear wheel.
I've been reading lots and lots of posts and have come to the conclusion that the best/easiest way to gain some horsepower is to replace the Mikuni's with a set of FCR41's. I was just about to buy a complete engine from Germany with a 870 ccm kit, but it was too much hassle and I think it was too expensive compared to how many extra HP it would give.
I've almost also bought Kayla's FCR41's, but she sold them just before I had a chance to transfer the money - bummer
I have decided to buy a new set, since it is almost impossible to find some second hand. (Unless one of you would be so kind to sell me yours?)
My questions are:
What do I replace the thick oil breather pipe with?
What air filters are the best (availability in the UK/Germany?) K&N cone filters or ramair foam filters?
With my setup, what would be the best main jet for starters?
Does one buy a complete set of main jets for the fine tuning, or does the FCR's work out of the box (considering the missing airbox and freeflow exhaust)
I plan to buy the carbs from BR Special Tuning in the UK as they have them in stock. Is this a reliable company?
Best regards Thomas, Denmark.
