Tripple Tree

Does anyone know if there is any top triple trees with risers or riser mounting points from any other model bikes that can be used to lift the bars. I have found a kit on the net that looks good but am wondering if there is a cheaper option. I have also see a bike advertised for sale with a one inch rise built into the bar but can't find any advertised any where to fit a TRX. Thanks Tony

Hi TonyK, not seen you post before so hello and welcome from me.
Ok, well yes, you can buy a billet top yoke, there`s plenty to choose from, ABM & Lucas to name but two, you`ll pay around 100 quid (or more)for one though.

Then again if you`re looking for the `cheap` option why not just get hold of another TRX top yoke and drill the yoke between the webs to accept a pair of risers?
Kayla (a member on here) has done it as have others.Risers are also readily available especially from places such as M & P who actually list 108 types!:

As for a top yoke, if you`re after one I have a stock one I would part with for £25.00 posted (UK).
Oh and IF at a later date you want the `bling` of the ABM billet yoke, I will have one for sale some time soon after I get my R1 conversion done on my TRX.
I`m going to be using a modified Lucas R1 billet top yoke for my conversion with a custom made bottom yoke.

Edit, I see you`re in Australia, not sure how much postage for a top yoke would be but I could find out if you want it.

G'day mate,
If you want a cheap option and just a small rise, what I did was slip the clip-ons up to the top of the forks and then put a small spacer/pile of washers under the clip-on/above the yokeon the bolt that attaches the clip-ons to the yokes.
Gives a rise of about 15mm but radically alters the riding position to a more sit-up style which I found much better.

I have just sold a 2002 Roadking and am waiting for the TRX (1997 36,000 Km $4,200 Aud) to arrive, so I haven't ridden the bike yet but have always liked a more upright position and have changed the bars on most of the other bikes I have owned, (about 25 over the years,bit of a tragic), so I will probably try the small rise that Trixynut has suggested first, but if not enough then the offer of the top yoke from Mincehead would be greatly appreciated. Hi TonyK!

For rising the original clip-ons you could also try to swap them and turning them upside down at the same time - may sound a little complicated but all described in this thread. Easy to do in a few minutes time.

BTW: You (and no one else) don't need a higher spacer if you shift the clip-ons higher on the forks.
Just leave the original spacer and screws out - the clamping of the clip-ons is by far sufficient for fixing them (if fixed with the specified torque!).
An aditional anti-twist protection is not needed (trust me, I'm a mechanical engineer )

i just fitted a tdm top yolk and a pair of moto x bars.... works for me ... my mate did the tdm and a pair of straights....works for him....

Can't thank you all enough. Have had the bike for a few days now and we have been getting to know each other. These bikes are excellent, the growl and the grunt is surprising to say the least. This is certainly one of the best bikes I have ridden if not the best.

I have raised and reversed the bar clamps which has made a huge difference and has saved me a lot of money as I was literally about to order the Comfort Kit when I saw the post from HolerTogni about the swap.

I was a little concerned that the Comfort Kit may change the feel of the bike to much and find this mod a great compromise.

I have also modified the clutch lever to be closer to the bar as I have small hands for my size and found it hard to use when riding hard

Hey Ritza do you know if the TDM yoke and bar change require longer clutch and brake lines

Yes you WILL need longer clutch cable and brake line/lines but just use TDM ones.

I'm just fitting one at the moment from CNC, used to be Streetfghter store or 998cc. Took bloody 5 weeks to arrive, so I,ve missed most of the sunny riding(for those of you north of the border, the sun is that round orange'y thing you see on holiday). She's starting to come together now though. I've converted quite a few sportsbikes to upright bars and find it suits me so much better, I'm more comfatable and a lot faster on the right circuits.

Hmmm, that one would appear to be a CnC labelled one and has a completely different shape to my own which came from there (originally) and is an ABM, just like the one on their image actually:

Thats right Mince, I've had three ABM ones off them in the past, which is what I thought I was getting, they came within a week(from Germany I think), fitted perfect and looked good. They've started milling there own now, took five weeks, had to drill it to get the ignition barrell to fit (now moved)and didn't come with any riser bolts. the time-span didn't bother me to much, it was the bollox in the e-mails after the second week:-posted monday,at the anodisers, will post tuesday. They were in the press a couple of weeks ago doing a comfort kit for Foggy, bet he didn't wait five weeks.

Hey Mince, could you let me know how how much you want for your ABM yoke and risers and are you selling your bars as well. I am looking for longer clutch,throttle cables and brake lines as well. I will look for TDM ones as you suggested if I can't find any. Any advice on the comfort mod would be greatly appreciated

Has anyone ever tried re-routing the throttle cables to the right hand side of the headstem to give more length when lifting the bars or doesn't it work

I have tried to attach Pic of the mods I have already done but it says that the file is to big, don't know what I am doing wrong

I think from what you guys are saying that the comfort kit from the Streetfighter Store has changed and is no longer a reliable purchase, am I reading that right. Are there Kits available that are using the ABM yoke
