TRX850 Adjustable Ride Height Dog Legs - jack up & lower kit

Post by darayman » Tue Oct 12, 2010 6:03 pm

I've just fitted a set of adjustable dog legs, made fine tuning the rear end a lot easier.

The YZF750 dog legs that were fitted when i bought the trx had me on tippy toes.

I've set the new dog legs to just a couple of mm longer than standard.

I can now get a foot flat on the ground.

There is a progressive spring on the standard shock which has either had an easy life, which i doubt or has been serviced at some point and works well in keeping my ample frame in the saddle.

by the colour I deduce it`s a Hyperpro progressive spring too. They REALLY know their TRX`s and were the guys behind one of the most famous, the Troll:

I made the set up myself. They are adjustable from 170mm to 190mm. And can be adjusted whilst on the bike due to reverse threaded rosejoints.

The kit comprises of 2 shafts, 4 rosejoints, 4 nuts, 4 washers, 2 longer bolts and 2 nylock nuts and cost me £58.60.

Yep nicely done, I`ve got ride height adjustment on my Ohlins shock so don`t require the facility of adjustment via the dogbones.
You may find other members requesting of you to make some for them though.

No worries, if anyone wants the adjustable dog legs let me know.
If your local (M1 J25/26) pop round for a cuppa and have a look.

I used to be local, well up to 1991 but now live in Edinburgh.I do get down south quite a bit though, lots of biker pals still down there.
You might get a wee raid one of these days.
