can someone take a measurement for me *now with pic*

Post by stevepeanut » Tue Dec 28, 2010 11:04 pm

I put some harris race cans on my trx a few weeks ago. The end of each can is really close to the reg plate. Can someone get me a measurement from the centre of each can at the rear to centre of the reg plate. Does this make sense.

This is meant to be a diagram of the back of the bike

0 [plate] 0 if the 0 is the can, thats how my bike did look
0[plate]0 it looks like this now

the long way for me to sort this is to re-fit the standard cans, measure how wide they are then put the race cans back on and fit spacers between the can and the brackets. If someone can take the measurement for me this will save me a load of time.

Why don't you put a smaller reg plate? I have a 7x5 inch one (I think) with my Carbon Can Co cans which go inwards quite a bit. 8)

IIRC they were designed to taper in towards the back but just have a play with the link pipes - you should be able to alter the spacing.

If not, it is very unlikley that you will melt the plate unless the cans are actually touching (and even then you will probably be fine). As has been said, if you are worried, buy a smaller plate

Personally I find it more disturbing that the cans are not at the same height. :?
As Phuk already mentioned, you can alter the spacing by rotating the link pipes.
