modify trx for two up use.
hi all. I am having no luck on here selling betty. Rather than losing a big pile of cash. I am thinking of modifying it. Probably ditch the nose fairing. Single headlight to be fitted. Bar raisers. The biggest bug bear would be the rear end. I can lower the foot rests no probs but what about the seat unit. Anybody had any luck with this?. Mmm

Marry a balerina?
Otherwise try a pillow or have the pillion pad recovered

problem is you need the rear seat up high or the rear pegs would be unusableslow codger wrote:You could fit a seat unit off of another bike, TDM?

Re: modify trx for two up use.
The point is: the TRX is really a solo machine.
Anyone who wants to do serious riding with a pillion passenger should consider another bike ... a TDM perhaps?
It's a shame that the TRX makes even a token concession to passenger provision with its tiny slab seat & absurdly high pillion footpegs.
Much better for Yamaha to have kept it a pure solo bike from the very beginning, with a seat hump and a smaller rear subframe.

Re: modify trx for two up use.
I had the same issue many years ago. I bought another TRX rear seat pad with the intention of having some new foam cut and then re-covered.
But I never go around to it. I still have the seat in stripped down form ready for recovering.
Then a year, then two years, then governments change and its still not done. Now I'm selling the bike.

You'd still have the problem of the TRX's absurdly high pillion footpegs!hagafan wrote:I want to do this mod that I have mocked up on the computer. Rear end of 96 Diversion 600.

A 1998 Fazer 600 seat and tail looks nicer, I think.
