levers and rearsets

R6 levers (99-02) are thicker around the pivot boss - which would suggest they are like that for strength? For the sake of a few quid spent on perch/master cylinder from a breaker (i bought 2 sets @ £30 each pair) i wouldn't compromise safety in areas such as braking (especially if buying cheap from China on Ebay?!)

It's not like i'm adverse to modding stuff either

Victor, the levers i bought on Ebay are from these guys in China." the2wheels". And here's the dimensions on the crash knobs that you asked for. length of the 10mm bolt depends on how much meat you want to leave in there. The rubber hose is 20mm diameter heater hose and it's 25mm long.

well, got my R6 levers today from the2wheels on ebay,
very impressed with the quality and only $25 US
the brake lever was a strait fit, and the clutch lever, just swaped the brass bush in the original to the new lever, then 2 3mm spacer/washers and bolt it up
still have trx perch and nothing cut or filed.
thanks for your advise and knowledge as allways. i will take some pics for all to see

Had a look in the 2wheels shop and there are a few different r6 levers. Could you put on the link for the ones you got please? (edit-I assume they were the 1999-2004 R6 levers?)

Now I know that the thunderace/thundercat gear should match up quite nicely with the trx.
Now Mr Mince would you think the thunderace levers would be a direct match for the trx...
Was hoping they might be a bolt on for the clutch rather than a few washers fit... if not then the 1999 R6 is as good as it is going to get...

Unlike (sorry for swearing) Honda, Yamaha nearly always uses up stocks of parts on newer models so the early R6 / R1 will share a fair amount of stuff with earlier or discontinued models like the TRX.
Mind I could be blowing smoke up yer ass so you`ll just have to wait for conformation from pom in nz.

Cheers mate think I will get the same just the adjustable folding ones for the r6 1999. Silly question what size washers you use to space it out, I'm at bunnings tomorrow will get some in advance... Oh I wish those thunderace were a def direct fit.. oh well r6 here we come...

i actually made the spacers from 16mm, 3mm wall alloy tubing, think the thickness was arround 3-4mm.
i have attached some pics, red arrows show spacers

What is the verdict on the lever movement with the spacers in?
No sticking or anything?

no, there is no sticking as the original bush is the correct length and stops the spacers from being crushed. the spacers just stop the lever from moving up and down, as the new lever is almost half the thickness.

Got the levers, even I with my outstanding mechanical skillset got the levers on without a major drama. yay! Thanks pomnz they go great!!!
Easy fit brake perfect, used three washers to fit clutch.
