best race cans
I had to take my trx for its mot on saturday so I re-fitted my standard yamaha cans, the bike looks properly balanced with those on and they fit perfect.
My harris race cans are lovely sounding and very light, but they are a poor fit, I have made new spacers to between the hangers and the pipe brackets and they fit a bit better now, but nowhere near as good as the stock pipes.
So, who makes the best aftermarket cans? with a nice sound, light weight and a good even fit

I have a pair of stainless steel Carbon Can Co cans and love them... easy fit, nice loud sound (but you can fit some db killers if you want) and good looks too - they come quite high and inwards

Harpoon Twin Carbon Ovals.... real slim fitting and nice and high.... and best of all loud, and release plenty of power...
dont think you will get these now though rarer than hens teeth...
I probably have the only set in the country, and wont be selling them...
82 hp at rear wheel with a K and N filter fitted............. nothing else...

All the rest probably blew to pieces years ago. I bought some when they first came out form J+S accessories for around £100 for the pair. They lasted less than a month before they started shaking themselves to pieces. Took them back and got my money back. Invested in full Akra 2 into 1 system.handsomejackuk wrote:Harpoon Twin Carbon Ovals.... real slim fitting and nice and high.... and best of all loud, and release plenty of power...

Mine are fine after 9 years use, and approx 9,000 miles... you must have had a dodgy set...Pieman wrote:All the rest probably blew to pieces years ago. Quite possibly, i got them when they first came out. The exit pipes were some rough cast alloy which was pitted and didn't have the greatest rivet job.
They were quite possibly the loudest pipes i have ever owned on any bike though, almost offensive...which was nice.
