Hello everyone, new here, have some TPS isuess

Post by gray » Fri Jun 10, 2011 12:35 pm

Hi, I ride A XTZ with a 900 engine, TDM carbs and TRX TCI.
My TPS is dead, (here is the thread on the super tenere forum http://www.super-tenere.net/forum/xtz75 ... fried.html )
1. where can I get one for a reasonable price? any one wants to sell one? a mikuni part number maybe? other bikes using the same TPS?
2. I have 5 wires coming from the TCI TPS connector, 3 go to the TPS, and 2 (white and light green) are not connected, does anyone know what they are for?
3. I cant get the TPS testing mode to work (open switch disconnect TPS and re connect it), any ideas? could it be because of the malfunctioning TPS? (the Y/B wire from the TCI goes to the tacho and the tacho works fine).
thank you all, I'm glad I found this forum you seem to really know the ins and outs of this bike.

You can bypass the TPS-

Just because you're breathing, it doesn't mean you're alive.

Thank you, I did do a search on the forum before I asked my questions, and i understand that with TPS you get a beret all around and (mid range is important) and fuel economy is compromised when bypassing the TPS (I would like to avoid that if possible).

Thanks for the diagram, where did you get it? maybe it shows where lime green goes.
