Will post close up showing bush next time I get the wheel out. Opinions on mirrors, got off E bay and am not sure whether to keep them or revert to originals

Re: R1 Front End
That i a seriously HOT colour you got there SDN, but seriously...junk those mirrors. In my opinion they look crap - really detract from the lines. Put in some block-off plates in the mirror mounts and get yourself some bar-end mirrors - my two bobs worth
Understeer - when you hit the fence with the front of the bike.
Oversteer - when you hit the fence with the rear of the bike.
Horsepower - how fast you hit the fence.
Torque - how far you take the fence with you.

Re: R1 Front End
yes very happy with the paint job, Guy in Kings Heath Birmingham did it. I wanted it to look like a pint of Guiness held up to the light - black with red highlights.schmiffee wrote:That i a seriously HOT colour you got there SDN, but seriously...junk those mirrors. He sprayed it black then blew some thinned silver over parts of the body work, he finished by blowing the whole lot over with thinned down candy apple red - were the silver was the red showed up then the whole lot was laquered

Yes I like that paint too, `Guiness` should have been one of Yamaha`s original colours.

How do you find the steering?? Does the swing arm/shock combo give you more rear ride height to offset the increase in trail using 25mm clamps??SDN wrote:Early 98 -00 i think

Re: R1 Front End
Bike has raised rear end and the front end is dropped so it steered pretty quick anyway, I havent personally noticed any differenceMarty Moose wrote:How do you find the steering?? Re: R1 Front End
The R1 stem is 0.3mm larger than the TRX one, which is a bit annoying.SDN wrote:had to weld up stem and turn it down R1 bottom yoke hole is slightly bigger than TRX

Re: R1 Front End
Mate, you have one of the nicest TRX's going around & those short Termi's are the shit!
(Any idea what they're off?)
Very nice colour, plain black is more my thing, nonetheless, I bet it looks stunning in person.
