clock/gauge surround..which one??
thanks to Kev, loaned me a kevlar..[should be his nick-name eh]..clock surround ..i then spent the sunday afternoon in the shed and made this copy from an ALLOY council road sign [ said REDUCE SPEED]..had it on the trx for a run to work today and dont like the mass of silver...what you think ?? might go the look of the kevlar by spraying the alloy a grey colour, then covering it with a piece of fly screen matting ,then a new spray of black...thoughts..??

Just buy some carbon or kevlar look self adhesive sheet and cover the alloy?

You can get it in a gold colour like woven Kevlar / glass fibre mix too, but you`ll need to trawl the WWW some more. I make tank pads, abrasion protection points etc from some I have.
I`m certain you`ll find it available in Australia too.

I've got something similar to the kevlar one on my bike. I think it looks good; but then so does the ally one.
Certainly an improvement on the uncovered version.

Quite like the ally one as well, was thinking of doing one myself, had a carbon one and didn't much like it and is presently original.

Here`s a 3D look type:

Found the one I have, very thick, VERY attractive look this stuff. Plus it`s very easy to cut with sharp scissors or craft knives (I mark it out to a pattern first) and brilliant for tank pads:

Didn`t pay 30 quid for it though, got my roll in a half price sale.

I reckon that alloy one would be great for cafe conversions that still use the original clocks!
