radiator top up bottle

I have nearly finished fitting my new sleaker and more modern seat unit to my trx and I am trying to get an idea if there is a specific volume capacity required for the radiator top up bottle that sits under the seat unit??

The original trx one is too big and bulky and wont fit under the seat unit so i need an alternative that will, i know some people use an old pop bottle or similar and fit it to the bike externally but im not a fan of that....OCD prevents me!!!!

I have seen some on ebay from a mini moto that would sit under the seat unit lovely but i dont know how much additional coolant i need to have in the top up bottle.

Check out what NWS870 did on his, a nice neat little bottle up between his FCR`s. (look up his TRX thread of his and Wendle`s rebuilds) I don`t think a large volume is required, I reckon 100 ml or so would be enough Billy.
Ideally it should be above the level of the radiator.
What about something like this, although there is no mention of it`s volume:

Alternatively a small scooter / twist and go one could be utilised. I`ve also seen the anodised alloy drinks bottles used, the type you can buy in Blacks, Millets or even in T.K.Max really cheaply, they look nice too but require some drilling and silicon hoses etc.

Where the devil did you get such a thing my man???? All my searches for it come up with nothing. Its a perfect size and shape for what I want and where you have put it, is a blinding idea.

Thanks for the links Mince, I may even give the kart bottle a go for £2.50, even if its a trial.

I dont even run one, and never had a problem. I do check my rad level every month or so.

I used one from a cagiva super city, which is really small and comes complete with a nice mounting strap

Been away for the weekend - lifted the tank & it's actually an AP Racing reservoir. Lots of sizes available on their website just pick what suits best
