New to the TRX and in the wrong damned country for it...

Post by Hoop » Mon Nov 06, 2006 3:32 pm

I've been a Duc fan for some time and have been planning on buying a Monster 620 after I get married (yes, she misses me having a bike....). I was looking at other bikes in that arena and stumbled across the TRX. It was a bit of love at first site...lol

I love twins, be the parallel, V or L in the Ducs....My questions arise from the following.

I'm 6'3" and 170lbs, will I fit

I live in Kansas, what is bike availability like? (never seen one)

Cost? I can't find any for sale this side of the pond...

Has to be one of the sexiest bikes out of Japan....

Everyone fits the TRX

However... the 'rex was never sold in the US, so you won't find any bike at all unless U stumble over a private import.

Sadly, it's the same with parts. A sad story for sure, since the business for aftermarket parts would have been much bigger had there been an american import of the TRX.

Sucks. I fell in love with the bike the moment I saw it...and I love having off the wall stuff.

Back to Ducs.

The biggest problem would be finding a bike, parts are available over the web, and the Rex shares plenty of parts with other Yamahas, it's just a matter of finding out which... I have no clue how difficult it would be to import from the "wrong" side of the pond, but should You for any reason come over to for example the UK, then You'd have a fair chance of getting one really cheap! So, how dedicated are You to being different?
BTW, I am ca 6' 2", and fit reasonably well, and my best mate's even taller, and he can't wait for the occasional bike swaps when we're out, so I guess he feels comfortable enough...

From one Yank to another (for obvious reasons, there aren't many on this board...) sorry for ya Hoop. :(

What really sucks is it would be a great bike in Kansas with all the torque, and you wouldn't have to worry about pushing it like the Duc.

What looks like a nice one on Ebay at the moment for £1900. How much will it cost to import?

If it costs £1000 to ship, you could still have a TRX in the US for $5500.

It'd be different.

Who needs parts anyway? Most stuff can be shipped pretty quick.
