fitment of motad venom cans....clamping probs?

As stated above clamping problems. At the front of the link pipes where it sleaves with the existing down pipes I have broken two of the clamping up clip type things through over tightening. At the point of breakage the pipes were still not air tight or movement free. My question is how can I get my exhaust clamped up properly???

Stainless is often a problem to clamp up being much harder to deform than the same guage in mild steel.
You could try increasing the length of the slots in the link pipes (I take it the link pipes are slotted?)Then you want to use Mikalor `brand` stainless band clamps, the bolt is an M6 high tensile with a 10mm hex head, these take far more tightening before they`ll give out:

If you do not have slots in your link pipes cut some into them with a hacksaw, you`ll need to make two cuts for each slot or you could use a thin cutting disc on an angle grinder, much quicker and a neat job.

I'm not sure about the Venoms, but most pipes need the standard gasket sleeves in there to take up the difference in diameter

Many link pipes, certainly in the UK are simply a sleeve fit over the tail ends of the stock pipework, the link pipes have splits to enable clamps to tighten them against the pipes.

Cheers Mincehead for the mikalor clamp recommendation just ordered a couple. Hopefully these won't give upon tightening.

Had the same problem with quell cans and link
Pipes you must use never seize on the bolts
To stop the threads from getting to hot
When tighting them and make sure you don't
Use 314 stainless bolts they are to hard and don't

The set screws they supply are shite - I got a pair of decent clamps from my local bike shop - made all the difference!
