Valve gap adjustment
I haven't even bought a TRX yet. I assume it is cams off to adjust valve gaps. Are shims readily available from dealers or does anyone sell a selection pack to save trips to the dealer each time a shim requires change? Is there anything in particular to look for when buying a bike?

Yep you`ve got it, cams out job and shims are readily available, sometimes on an exchange basis through dealers workshops.

Great thing to start with is to ask them how to check for oil as it´s special on the trix.Hooperman wrote:I haven't even bought a TRX yet. I assume it is cams off to adjust valve gaps. Me mate bought one that have been filled to the glass cold...think we had to bleed out a litre or so.
Check drivechain and tires....big bucks to change.
Otherwise their pretty bulletproof!
chims are same size as honda MX bikes wich make them easy to find....

Re: Valve gap adjustment
When filling the oil tank it should be done with the motor at operating temperature, not cold. IF you fill the oil tank to the top of the sight glass with the motor cold you run the risk of over-pressurisation, seal damage, lots of burning oil and nice blue smoke when you do run her up to temperature!
