Tempreture guage low reading.

The temp guage on my TRX sits somewhere between 65-70 degrees even after long rides, is this normal? Seems a little cool to me, maybe the thermostat is stuck open? I've never heard the fan run either, even in warm weather. Any ideas or suggestions galdly received. Cheers Rewster.

Often the fan doesn`t kick in til past 100, quite normal all this.

Hi Rewster, Whereabouts in the world are you? I'm in Western Australia & even in our summer, the temp
gauge on mine reads like yours when on the move. Waiting or crawling along in traffic is a different matter
though - starts heading up fairly rapidly - fan comes on just over 100deg. Depending on where you are it
may never get this hot though!

in fact in our cooler weather, the temperature needle often sits right at the bottom near 65.

also, the fan on mine (and others, it seems) comes on just a little over 100degrees.

first couple of days after getting the bike, was sitting with the engine running, waiting in a queue for fuel. temp was rising pretty quickly and i had a game of chicken with the bike. i had decided that if the needle touched the red on the gauge i'd kill the engine immediately to save it from damage. luckily for me (and the engine) the fan came on, although a little high for my taste... if there's any way of adjusting the thermostat & switch for the fan, i'd like to know.... even a manual switch would do fine.

Fan comes on at 104 and cuts out at 97

Ahaa, 104, no chance of boiling at that lowly figure as long as the `mix` at 50 / 50 is correct and the system is holding pressure.
