Removing swingarm

Hi,

First time on the forum, I have had my TRX for a couple of years and love it. I have done all the usual servicing myself, and now want to regrease the swing arm bearings (would have been easier with a grease nipple!). How to get the swingarm out seems fairly straight forwrd but my question is what is the best way to supprt the bike while doing this. Blocking under the engine would be one, but that is awkward with the pipes on; supporting from the garage roof could also be possible. Would it be possible to invert the footrests, so they dont swing up and support on axle stand their?

When I did mine, the best way I found was to remove rear seat and bodywork and tie rope round both sides of the rear of the frame, then lift the whole lot up with a block and tackle, nice and stable - provided it is slung correctly + no load on the swigarm so suspension is unloaded.

Obviously loosen all the really tight bolts on the floor to stop it swinging around - swingarm pivot and wheel nut.

Simples

- unless you don't have block and tackle - though i guess you could jack the back upand simply tie sling round a handy beam

Been on holiday and busy at work so not got back to the forum. Thanks for all the replies, I like the idea of 2 stands either side with a tube under the top of the frame. will let you know how it goes.
