forks leaking

so its the dreaded MOT time and the forks are leaking so fresh seal and new oil, and they still leak...

so good look over the fork leg and a tiny pit is all i can find which i wouldn't expect to cause the leak so maybe duff seal? they are pattern seals. Anyone tried the leak proof pro moly ones from motohaus?

Not tried pattern seals but you could fill the pit with Araldite, sand down with wet and dry til smooth

tempted to try and pick up some forks at the moment but could give the araldite a bash I suppose

Sounds like duff seals to me mate one tiny pit should not make them leak a lot, you might want to have a feel of it though, to see if there is a ragged edge on it which might be tearing the seal slightly, a fine file will sort it out if there is, and then as Dandy says with the araldite, and then new seals again prob as the damage will have been done

You might also check the bushes out the next time you have the forks apart as that will also affect the lateral movement of the fork leg making the seal have less pressure on back of the chrome fork leg if there is "play" in the bushing

im using foxeye forks on mine they have hagon springs and 30wt oil in them to cope with my girth but im tempted to try some original trx forks on it with better springs etc to compare

okay so been off the road since last post and today tried the new seals and they wont seal again, im thinking next plan is a fork seal driver rather than using the old seals etc to make sure they are driving in well and another set of seals...

any other suggestions? really need to get this back on the road by end of next week and the forks are the only thing stopping me getting the MOT done at this point
