TRX/TDM Oil in alternator housing?

Post by hoyhoy9 » Fri Mar 08, 2013 8:52 pm

A mate of mine ran his TDM with a burst head gasket until the bike wouldnt start. Oil lokks like milk blablabla...Having removed the oil pumps in order to remove the cam chain (to be replaced) , obviously masses of gunge and oil draind from the oil pump fittings...however, on the other side of the bike the central screw in the alternator cover was open (used to turn the crankshaft...) and oil also drained from there. Is this normal? or does the bike have a bigger problem such as a crankshaft oil seal broken?? I am not sure whether the coils in the alternator cover should be bathed in oil??

Can anybody give any advice??
