A little while ago had problems with it coughing, spluttering and cutting out. Turned out the air intake hoses were split, got them changed and balanced carbs and everything was fine.... For a while.
Now when I start the bike, starts up fine (with choke, still a bit cold even though it's may..) sounds fine when ticking over, but when I go to set off there is very very little power, just chugs away very loudly, at full throttle in 3rd was struggling to do 35/40, just slowly chuggs along. Kinda sounds like it's running out of fuel but I've had the fuel tap off and checked all that, nothing is blocked.
A few days ago it would only accelerate as normal in one very specific throttle position, any more throttle and more chugging, now it need 3/4 throttle to even set off.
I had the tank off and gave it a clean as some rain water got in due to the fuel cap cover leaking (something which I will replace soon) and I forgot to put the bike cover on I ran some carb cleaner and that stuff for getting rid of moisture, emptied the tank and put in new fuel too.
When the tank was off I drained the carbs and there were some water droplets in the fuel along with quite a bit of black sh1t.
it seems to be getting worse. Once bike warmed up, if choke is put on full the bike cuts out.
Any ideas? Was thinking possible sh1t inside my carbs, but as a bit of a noob was worried about taking them to bits. What would be the symptoms of dirty carbs? Looked online but everyone mentioning it stalling and cutting out but it never does, ticks over fine, well just a bit louder than usual, but got micron cans on and they are LOUD!
If it sounds like mucky carbs - How difficult is it to remove and clean the carbs, anything I need to be careful of?
