Found all the info needed using 'search'.

Cheap parts, readily available and an easy job.

Note - comment is that it is better mounted on the lhs of the crankcase than at the banjo bolt on the head.

leehenty@gmail.com is the guy who does a modified switch that fits the crank case, great bit of kit.

Why is it better to mount on the lhs of the crankcase than at the banjobolt on the head?
Seems to me in case of oil pressure loss occurs first in the cylinder head.

I would 100% agree with you on that one Emway, the pressure top to bottom on the same external line will be the same.

I have an oil pressure guage fitted to mine and it runs between 50 and 77 psi depending on how much I rev

Does anyone have the pressure reading from an oil feed pipe mounted guage for comparison ?

We would of course have to assume both engines are in good condition

Brown VW switch.
Works perfect for me. After a hard run with a hot motor, I can adjust the idle down slightly until the light starts to blink. Any change to this behaviour can give me an idea of the health of the bottom end. This is the true value of an oil pressure light
