The bike'll run fine without a tacho. I tried it when I 'fightered my bike and it wasn't a problem cos the cdi stops the engine revving too far anyway. I think the idea for a bracket under the top yoke nut is a very good onegregs656 wrote:now that, sir, is a damn good idea. Wonder how thin it would need to be. there is no weight to that unit really.
Question, if I remove the tacho, what happens? Some bikes are a bit funny about it aren't they?

you could use a alloy kick plate that you find on the bottom of doors

i put my sensor in the hole on my disk brake stud. The one that connects the inner and outter together. Hid the wiring behind the for tube, and secured the sensor next to the brake. Worked a treat.
I DID however need to remake the wire. Its VERY thin, and after all of 1 track day, the tiny stones / road debris took its toll on it. So stripped the sensor, got some new 2 core wire, soldered it on, bam, works perfectly and is much more rugged.
